Honestly... I snuck into this "Entrepreneurship" USC class without meeting course criteria and I didn't belong because I didn't have good grades. But Paul Orfalea, founder of Kinkos had an undisclosed requirement that superseded coursework... students lined up and only got in if they were bold introducing themselves to him. My firm handshake, unswerving eye contact and goofy smile made me the first student of 30 admitted to the class while others with "the coursework" never made it.
This "Entrepreneurship" course became my favorites at University of Southern California in undergrad because Paul Orfalea taught students that:
Clarity - a clear desired outcome
Charisma - enthusiastic communication
Courage - a willingness to put yourself in front of decision makers
...is what breeds success for business owners
If you're in the midst of a challenging moment - remember that those 3 things are what got you succeeding in business BEFORE #COVID or any economic slow down. Those are also the things that will get you succeeding again now when things are slow. Be encouraged and ignore the "signs" you can't succeed in a down economy.
How do you tap into that charisma and creativity? Remember the times before when you succeed - take time to remember those stories and what energy did you bring to the table? Bring that same honest energy - no matter how goofy to the next pivot or sales opportunity so you bring to fruition the opportunity you are seeking.
That energy - no matter where the economy or your business is, will bring you forward.
